Local Dem Activists: We Are All Joseph Mailander

In the last few weeks some cracks of light have begun to shine on the bunker that is the Paul Krekorian operation.  Forged letters, claims of positions long after the fact, and nasty, below-the-belt accusations about anyone who disagrees (even those who respectfully disagree).  We've outlined these happenings below, as have mainstream sources like the LA Daily News.

Burbank Democrats have known this about this side of Paul for years, and I daresay few have listened.  He has gotten increasingly bitter, and his staff has upped the amount of meds in their Kool-Aid.  The latest bout of just bizarre sniping, rumor-mongering, and nastiness was targeted at Joseph Mailander, a journalist who serves as a sort of witty conscience for progressives in the Greater L.A. area.

Unfortunately, this comes as no surprise to local activists.  One such activist, who had the temerity to send a letter criticizing some of King Paul's more imperialistic ways, found himself an instant target of the Krekorian rumor mill/sniping machine.  It's oddly coincidental how he, like Mailander, was branded a drunk and other such things by team Krekorian.

Then there was the other activist who dared to cross King Paul on another decision, so minor, it has been forgotten by most.  That activist got similarly sniped about, in the typical Krekorian devious, underhanded, secretive way.

The underhandedness and toxic relationship with activists is one of the reasons why Krekorian didn't run for City Attorney this time.  (The other is Team Krekorian's tacit support of Republicans against Dems). In such nonpartisan municipal races, the endorsement of the Democratic Party is key, as it provides troops and validation in an overwhelmingly Democratic city.  Activists have drawn a line in the sand, saying not-so-privately that Paul Krekorian better shape up or will never get a Dem Party endorsement again.

Don't bet on contrition.  The pigheadedness of Krekorian is legendary.  Peace and coming together have greater odds of occurring in Sudan before in Krekorianland.

In the meantime, the whole specter is kind of fun.
